Christmas Sick and Our 7th Wedding Anniversary

Despite having a whole sick week of Christmas, Sarah and I celebrated our 7th Anniversary at Marriott Bonvoy hotel in Gilbert, near the place we hold ASC and the Mesa Gateway Airport. You're probably wondering how on earth we payed for this venture. Well, I had 13,000 points in my Navy Federal Credit rewards. Which is essentially $130 of money that we could spend on a hotel. So I booked a us a hotel to stay at and on Monday at 1pm we traveled to it using Uber, since our car is in the shop.

We chose this location because it was extremely close to restaurants and Target and Walmart. The restaurant in particular that we were excited to go to was Texas Roadhouse. We got there at 2 but the restaurant wasn't open yet, so we went to Target to look at stuff in the store (a little bit hungry). We had decided to come back later to get a Starbucks drink (which I had a giftcard for) and to get some Martinellis.

At Texas Roadhouse, we ordered the Porterhouse TBone Steak and the Ribeye all with a $100 gift card I had gotten from my secret santa at work. The Porterhouse was just amazing and we kept some to eat that night and the next morning.

We were able to go to the Jacuzzi that night. We also watched some shows about illegally crossing the border with contraband items. We played some Scrabble, and we just enjoyed Spending time together. It was very relaxing.

The next day we slept in late, then went to Cafe Rio with another gift card that Briana had given to us when we got sick a few days prior.

Then we traveled home.

The few days prior, our Christmas was very low key as we were both recovering from sickness. I had gotten really bad, lying down and feeling my head grow so hot. It was uncomfortable to sleep but sleep was all that I wanted to do because watching tv was too stimulating for the headache that I had received from the sickness. It was also tough because we didn't have a car, so we had to order all our food through uber and Amazon, including Gatorades. It was honestly a miserable week for us, but we were happy to live it with each other. We didn't get that much done.
