Roosevelt Row Outing by Train in Phoenix

Sarah and I took the tram in Gilbert to Roosevelt Row in Phoenix the other day. It was a nice getaway that we were able to do. We got on the train at Main and Gilbert Road and dropped off the car. And took the train to Phoenix. We had decided that we wanted to go to Phoenix and especially downtown Phoenix. We had an uneventful trip there. We enjoyed being together on the train and we got off and started walking down the touristy Roosevelt Row. All the shops were closed because it was so late but the restaurants and little shops were open of just vendors on the side of the road. We even got in some conversations: one with a women that sold some mushroom paraphernalia and even some aprons that were handmade. We talked to a man that sold mechanical pencil art that was amazing.

So we walked all the way up the row, mostly looking for a restaurant to go to. We didn't see any, but Sarah had been here before as an uber driver and said she wanted to go to. The place was called the Churchill. We walked back down Roosevelt Row and ended up at this Restaurant, which was like a mall of little restaurants and stores. We decided to end up going to a Pizzaria that was there, and got a nice specialty pizza that had pineapple, buffalo sauce, and cilantro on it. It was good in an interesting way. But it was exactly what we needed.

We also saw that they had a dartboard, and I really wanted to play darts with Sarah. So we figured out where to get the darts and played several rounds. I think this was Sarah's first time playing competitively against someone. And it was so much fun. Then we decided to go home because it was getting to be about 10pm.

What's interesting is that on the tram back, we were sitting and talking and listening to the third Harry Potter book, there was a little commotion in the back of the train that we were sitting in. A black guy was getting upset and hitting a hispanic guy who took off his shirt in the process. He was saying that the Hispanic guy had taken his or touched his bag. Some people stepped in, including this woman, and Sarah had pressed the panic button to report and the black guy got off the train at the next stop, as well as some security personel came on the train to break up what was going on. It was a bit intense in the moment and Sarah moved to another train car in the process.

Anyways, we enjoyed the night.
