"NINE NINE!", Die Hard, and GBBO 2023

We spent the good majority of the end of the year watching Brooklyn 99. We didn't know how much we had watched because when it was being run, we stopped watching it because of the cringe wokeness of the 2020 season. But we enjoyed watching it and finished the whole series before the end of 2023. We've also been curious as to what the hype was about Die Hard, because the main character of Brooklyn 99 named Jake Peralta is obsessed with the movie. We asked Uncle Jesse about it during Thanksgiving and he said that the MPAA rating of R is loose compared to today's standards and that it would most likely get a PG-13 rating at best. So we bought the 5-disc dvd set of all five movies and around our wedding anniversary or new year's, we watched the first Die Hard. And we have to say, we really enjoyed it, and the references found in the cop show, Brooklyn 99.

We also followed along with the world and watched the Great British Baking Show. We enjoyed talking to Sarah, my sister, about it, as she was doing a competition in her work about who won the show. In the end, the underdog, Matty, won. And while it was fun to watch in the moment, it was really memorable as other baking shows. I had to look up the winner for remembrance.
