BYU vs. Notre Dame 2026

The hype for the BYU vs Notre Dame game was real last Saturday.

ESPN came to Provo and had a huge hulabaloo at the college the day of the game. There was a man that won a 3 million dollar field goal kick in two tries with the last name Smith. 1 million was dedicated to charities, but he got to keep the other two. He was a freshman at BYU.

The game was a nailbiter. BYU did really good in the first half of the game. But the second half it got really close. It came down to the last play, and Notre Dame wasn't able to surpass us by the end. The team stormed the field. Bear Bachmeier was tearing up in interviews and with family members.

I was able to go visit my parents the day before the game and we had a grand ole' time.

The only downer was that it took me three hours of mostly bumper to bumper traffic from the Los Angeles Temple to make it to my house in Fontana.

We went to Chipotle the first night and got some good bowls and burritos.

The next morning we decided to go to Deseret Industries (DI). It was a fun time and we browsed around for a while. I found a puzzle but decided not to get it. Then mom and dad took me to Miguel's for lunch. We sat in their regular spot. They showed me how Miguel's had new salsa "packets" instead of containers. The salsa is not the same they said. And they were right. We all got nachos and I got a bean and cheese burrito to go for the road on Sunday.

Hanging out with the parents during the game was quite exhilarating. Electrifying even.

After the game we celebrated by getting In N' Out hamburgers and fries.
