The Strawberry Festival
On April 24th, Sarah and I went to the Santa Maria Valley Strawberry Festival, which was on the fair grounds, and it was like one big fair. There were a whole bunch of rides but they were extremely overpriced. Or at least not anything we were willing to pay for. But what we did pay for was a carton or two of strawberries at the door, which was a hot-selling item because by the end, there were no strawberries left at the stand. The strawberries were from a locally grown source but at this time I cannot remember where that is.
My favorite things to do at fairs is go see the booths, usually in warehouses. So we did, and we were able to get our shoes cleaned and shined. They did a really good job, and if we had the money, we'd probably go for it. Sarah was seriously considering it for me. But we did get some scones from a seller. I thought they were good, but Sarah wasn't convinced. Sarah's all about whether or not she can cook it and it be better. We also supported one of the rodeo princesses named Reyna. Hopefully come raffle time we win the raffle of $3000 towards Disneyland.
We also walked around and looked at things that others were selling. We got a three meat platter to share, but it wasn't as good as the picture made it look. But we were blessed. We talked with someone that was from Ecuador and selling Andean merchandise. We also looked at the places that sold Pokemon apparel.
All in all, a great night and fun.
