Two LA Temple Trips, including Baptisms with Marcus and Fiona, and Kings Hawaiian for Aiofe

We did our monthly temple trip in January. After we did Initiatories, we sat in the Celestial Room, and I saw Sarah do something that I had never seen her do before (a hidden talent). She was speaking sign language with some members from the deaf community that were entering the Celestial Room from the Endowment Room. We ran across Sister Rachel Freeman, who shared with us her conversion story. She taught us what God had done for her when she had left the church, and how Christ had made everything better. It was cool to see Sarah sign, even if it was a little rusty.

After we left the temple, we were taking our obligatory after temple picture, when a woman in a group of women named Trina asked us if we wanted as professional pictures in front of the temple as possible with our phone cameras. She then took our photos while telling us that she used to work with people as a wedding photographer. Fun pictures.

The next day, Athena enlisted us in getting King's Hawaiian Cake for Aoife Martin's birthday, which had been a few days before. She then surprised them with the cake, as well as presents. It was cute to see the whole family so happy.

Later that day, we wanted to go see Marcus get baptized for the dead at the LA Temple with the Orcutt Hills Youth, so we invited Fiona to come do baptisms with us. We were able to get pictures with the whole Trefflich family and us before we entered. Also, Fiona and Kirsten were comparing how tall they were with each other. Baptisms were really great. I gave Fiona 5 Peruvian female names to do, and Titan Ung 5 peruvian male names to do for me. They both were super excited to do them. We also took our obligatory after temple pictures.

The rest of that day we went to meet the Martins and Athena's family at a park near Uncle Ken's home, so we could visit him. Needless to say, Helen and Sarah and I stayed at a hotel that night.

On our way home, we decided to go to a Single's Ward for church in Simi Valley because they were the only ones doing their service at 12 noon. They started a little late, and we found out the speaker, who's name was Hailey Westenskow was our friend Carlie and Chad's Westenskow sister. Small world.
