Anniversary Stay at Fairfield Inn, Losing Keys, and Traveling in the Rain
We stayed at Fairfield Inns in Camarillo one night on our way back to Santa Maria. We had originally parked in the driveway so we could unload and then Sarah would park after unloading and I would get the hotel, but in the process of unloading, we lost our keys! We were in the driveway of the Fairfield Inn in Camarillo for over 30 minutes, maybe even 45 minutes! We prayed several times, and Sarah felt like she should let me do the ultimate looking. She turned on Enya on her phone and then I found the keys in our trunk. All in all, we were blessed that nobody came out and told us we had to leave the driveway, but then again, this was a low-key hotel. Not too busy.
Our stay was nice. We were able to swim in the Jacuzzi at night, and we watched Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and another show that was about home renovations, but in order for the person to make his home renovations, he had to sell some of his collections of video games and playing cards. This guy had a Magic: The Gathering card that was worth over $10,000, appraised. He didn't sell that. But this was one heck of a niche show.
That morning, I woke up early and got the continental breakfast. As I was eating, I looked at different pieces of music that the sixth graders could play for the band. I chose between an easy (but not so easy) version of the Avengers Theme or Pirates of the Carribean. I also learned that there are band pieces that are divided in four parts depending on the instrument you play, like a soprano, alto, tenor, bass, but for instruments. This made me happy.
On our way out, we stopped at the Van's Outlet store and we both picked up some Vans on sale. Then we walked to the Toys R Us and looked at all the toys in the Galeria. What was crazy is that the rain was picking up, and this was the day that we were going to drive home. As we were driving home, it got really crazy outside of Ventura that we had to stop.
We stopped and prayed that it would lessen for the rest of the ride home. And it did! Even though it said it was going to rain more. What miracles! And we also were able to get these pictures on our drive up the mountain because the 101 was closed for floods. Usually the mountain pass is scary driving, but it was very trafficky up there so it was very slow going but made for safe travels.
