Anniversary Outing: Hapik Rock Climbing Gym

Sarah convinced me (along with my therapist), to go to the Hapik Rock Climbing Gym in South Gate. I was really afraid since I had never done rock climbing before. But, surprisingly (or not) I was a natural at it. It was still a bit freaky to go so high up and on so many different things that you had to maneuver about. The scariest one was the Jenga set one that I did; I could only go up about 2/3 of the way up.

Not only that, but afterwards I got a wicket bruise on my left arm from the very first thing we did. Our instructor (who was not that enthusiastic) taught us the basics of how to do some rock climbing, but we did it on the worst thing in the gym, the purple and green balls. She told us to push off and go to the floor, and when I did that I accidentally over grabbed the rope and it totally rubbed my left underarm very hard, and I got a gnarly bruise because of it.

We had a lot of fun (for me) trying something new, and for Sarah, enjoying time back at a place she hadn't been in over 10 years. We both tried our best, doing things that we thought we could handle, and it was good. We both got pins at the end. Sarah's said Ninja Camp, and mine said Popeye Arms (in honor of my dad). Also, at the gym, my points were tallied under Ganon, and Sarah's under Catwoman.

We went to Panda for well deserved Honey Walnut Shrimp.
