Anniversary in the Redlands Temple and Dinner Date with Adina and Gavin
Sarah and I decided that we wanted to go to the Redlands Temple for our Anniversary. We traveled from LA to Fontana first to hang out with my Mom and Dad. We ate turkey and chicken leftovers from Christmas Dinner a few nights prior. We also conversed about Peruvian Family History, which Sarah is excited to help out with. Then we went to the temple.
At the temple we did sealings. Because we had Christina and Jon's car (so we could pick them up the next day), we forgot to bring our temple clothes. So we had to borrow some from the temple. Even though I tried twice, they still got my pants size wrong both times, so I was holding my breath the whole time.
That didn't stop the Sealing session to go really beautifully. We told the patrons in the sealing there that we were celebrating our marriage and sealing 8 years prior. We also had patrons from Yuma whose last names were the Millers, and we told them that that was the name of our sealer and so that was also very special.
After the sealing, we were able to have unhindered time in the Celestial Room, which was just amazing. We could've sat there for hours if we had nothing else to do. Sarah and I debated on whether a part of the wall was etched in or if it was wallpaper way up in the air. But we also prayed and admired the beauty of the Redlands Temple Celestial Room.
Then we took pictures outside of the temple. (Some in remembrance of our own pictures we took the day we got married).
That same night, we spent our anniversary going out to dinner with Adina and Gavin at Souplantation (or Soup n' Go) in Rancho Cucamonga. Prior to seeing them, we went to Savers to look for clothes and other things for me. But we ended up finding a charcuterie board that we gave to Adina and Gavin and a charcuterie knife.
Spending time with Adina and Gavin was so fun. They are such a nice a couple and fun to hang out with. We spent time chatting away conversing over soup and salads. It was awesome to see how much Adina is progressing as a human being. How she is doing at school. It was also cool, because Sarah made a new friend for Focusmate, which she will definitely take advantage of, if Adina wants to. We love Adina and Gavin very much.
