Joey and Jodie Majdali's Sealing and Wedding
The last weekend in November we made a trip to Los Angeles, first off, to go to the temple, but secondly, to attend a wedding reception in the evening.
However, upon arrival at the temple, the timing came out perfectly because my temple recommend didn't work, and as we were waiting for the recorder to come check it, in walks in our friends, the Majdalis, and they are there to get sealed. Not having been invited to the sealing itself, we had planned to just do a sealing ordinance, but Joey, upon seeing Sarah, invited her and me to join in on the sealing.
And let me tell you, it was perfect. President Maurice Lam was just walking through the temple, not the initial person that was going to do the sealing and he volunteered to do it. He was Sarah and Joey's stake president growing up. And he did an amazing job as their sealer. It was heartfelt, emotional. We were able to sit next to Sarah Ryerson and Shannon Coffin (Joey's Sisters). And it was just special. The Majdali parents were there as well as a few others.
We enjoyed going to the reception that night. But before we got there, I had forgotten an important key to the Diamond's house at the temple. I was freaking out, but Sarah told me there is a solution to every problem. And we were able to arrange it that the temple found it (in a locker that I don't normally use) and give it to President Lam to bring it to us at the reception, which in and of itself was a miracle.
The reception was cool. The best man, Chris Johnson, was Sarah's childhood friend growing up and he told a story about how he thought that Joey's girlfriend was a paid actress until they actually got married, which if you know them is funny because they have history with the film industry. Sarah Ryerson told the miraculous story of how Joey and Jodie met through her.
It was pretty cool for Sarah, because she saw many people that she hadn't seen for maybe over 20 years or so.
