General Conference and New Furniture Layout, Roller Skate Brithday Party, and Lompoc Ghost Tours

The start of October began with General Conference. Over General Conference weekend, a few things happened. Kirsten and David had gone yard selling the morning of and had found some dressers and night stands. They asked us, after sending us a picture, if we wanted them, and we said yes. It was nice of them to pick it up for us. So we got some new furniture and decided after much talk, that we wanted to reorganize our room. We made a schematic for how we wanted our room to look, and proceeded to deliberate and make final decisions about the layout. I think we did a good job.

Saturday night, we went to Marcus' Birthday Party at the Roller Skating Rink. Sarah and I were surprised that Sarah was able to roller skate after so much hardship with her knees and ankles. Physical therapy is really helping. We had Costco pizza and a chocolate cake. While we were there we also were able to talk with one of Marcus' friend's fathers and he signed up his kids to do piano with me starting in a week. I'm excited for that. We even hooked him up with a free piano from the Jensens (who used to be in our ward before they moved. All in all, great time at Marcus' party, and fun time rollerblading. Sarah is really good at rollerblading and she was enjoying the music and the blading.

One of the things we did conference sunday is that we wanted to support our friend that lives in Lompoc. Her name is Kate Nelson and she does Ghost Tours of Solvang and as of this last Sunday, Lompoc ghost tours. The tours were selling out quick and while we could we wanted to pick up some tickets. Well, we went. We were running a little bit late, but they gave us a meter for detecting supernatural activity, kinda like the ones that you would see in Ghostbusters, and she took us around several places in Downtown Lompoc, including the gazebo, the Lompoc Museum, an old house believed to be haunted, the furniture district building the Chamber of Commerce Building, and the old Lompoc theatre. All of these places have had reports of different paranormal activity. The furniture district was a little strange. It felt off and I told Sarah to step away from the building. At the Chamber of Commerce, Kate was telling us of the different ghosts that haunt that building, including a malevolent person, and then as we were leaving over the intercom someone told us to wait, which freaked all of us out. But it was a man telling us that even though lots of people don't go in the building after dark, that he does it every month and only one thing had ever happened to him during his time doing it. We also did things with dousing rods and a spirit box which was an AM/FM radio that does seeking really slowly, and you hear different messages from it. Anyways, it was an interesting tour. We enjoyed it and it was good seeing Kate and her husband Parker, and talk with them afterwards.
