The Last Few Days of School 24/25

Well, June 6th was my last day at Patterson Rd. Elementary for the 24/25 School Year. I clocked in at around 6-7 weeks at that school, maybe 8, including my last week. And let me tell you, the last week was rough in its own way. First of all, something that was nice was that I didn't have to teach lessons that week so I didn't have to prepare anything. However, something that wasn't that nice was that I wasn't teaching my own classroom; I kinda went where the wind (or Terry) told me to go, which made my second to last day a little unbearable. But I bore the last week of classes.

First off, I was asked to go to Pine Grove Elementary as a favor for Mrs. Sorensen. They needed a fifth grade class substitute and I was the guy. Funnily enough, this was my lightest day and easiest day of the three. The kids were relatively great, and the schedule for that day was easy. They were signing yearbooks as well as playing games. The only scholastic thing I did with them all day was read a short story to them. Also, the fridge in the staff lounge was loaded with goodies. The teachers were really nice to me.

Then on my second day, I was back at Patterson. For the first part of the day I was helping out in a Special Ed Kindergarten class. That was the easy part. Then they sent me to Ms. Carlotti/Buchanan's class, and boy let me tell you what, order in that room is paper thin, and I was not enjoying myself. This is probably why they sent me there, but my discipline is not very good, especially in a class where someone else is the authority. We did Karaoke in the classroom, and it was as expected in a class with paper thin order.

We then went to watch Cars in the Lunchroom, and that was crazy too, because nobody was keeping order in there. But oh well. We tried to keep order.

The next day was mid-crazy, but definitely not the hardest day. On this day, I was asked to go be a second body in Carlotti/Buchanan classroom, but today they got yearbooks and that kept the peace, and then we all went outside and that was just a little bit of madness, because it felt like the whole school was out there signing yearbooks. The whole school. Including some kindergarteners/first graders. It was like an episode of Recess, but honestly it wasn't that bad until they were out there past the time to go in, and then I was wondering when somebody was going to blow a whistle to let everyone know when to come back in. It finally happened like 15 minutes later.

While the boys watched a puberty video, the girls went to the cafeteria to watch Cars. So a double dose of cars. This was a lot more contained as far as voice level was concerned than the first, so no splitting headaches.

Both the days at Patterson, Sarah was subbing, so I got to spend time with her, and I chose to go to her class for the remainder of the day. I helped her keep her class contained; it was Winkelpleck's class. We watched Phineas and Ferb while Sarah asked me to help her with stuffing the report cards in envelopes, and later handing them out to kids.

After that, we went to take down my class. David had given us a staple remover.

Then I took a picture in front of the school. I then took my computer back to the district.

Afterwards, we went to go celebrate with a gift card at Cold Stone. We got oreo birthday cake ice cream with double oreos, nutter butter, brownie, all in a waffle cone. We also got a little cheesecake. It was really nice.
