Spending time in San Luis Obispo (SLO) and it's Mission, While Taking Ben to SLO Symphony
On Monday, April 28th, we took Ben to San Luis Obispo so that he could go to cello lessons and SLO orchestra practice.
After we dropped him off at cello practice, we spent the few minutes we had getting hot dogs and taquitos from a gas station, as well as going to a small park called Eto Park. Which was this very small flower and tree garden that was a memorial to someone who had passed. We ate and enjoyed our time in nature. We also were able to see a memorial tree that was planted a rock monument that had a really pretty poem that I want to do a composition with, hopefully.
Then we picked up Ben and we took him to SLO Symphony practice.
After we dropped him off, we decided to go to the San Luis Obispo Mission (at my request). It was a really pretty mission. One of the smaller ones. It has a rose garden. A well. A Fountain. A furnace or oven. And it has three bells in the courtyard. 2 of which were made in Lima, Peru a couple hundred years ago. I like that it shows the pitches. It makes an A Major chord, A, C#, and E. Sarah and I made wishes at the well (kinda like one of our favorite shows-Ruby and the Well-on BYUtv.
With our remaining time, we quite literally combed the streets of San Luis Obispo, staying in SLO's downtown district. It was really quite fun. I took a picture of a cat on a violin or viola.
I also worked on making my room "Mr. Gonzales' Music Class" Poster in a charlie brown style, while Sarah took a walk.
And then after we picked up Ben, I worked on making Solfege posters.
