Our Afternoon Tea Party with the Harpoles
Today was our tea party with the Harpoles, and it went splendidly. We took care of everything mostly today, since yesterday was a busy day for us. I cleaned up the house this morning, and Sarah worked on getting the clotted cream done last night. Then, after a nap from me and some prep work from Sarah, we worked on the rest of the items we had to make. The things we made were curry chicken sandwiches, ham salad sandwiches, Scotch eggs, chocolate chip cookies, Cherry Bakewell cookies, not to mention the teas that we had, of which we had several to choose from.
We had stimulating conversation. Some about living in the midwest since they lived in Iowa, some about living and driving in Italy and Peru, and some about the compositions that I have worked on and the benefits and blessings of moving to Arizona when we did, even though it was a trial at the time.
It was a fun time and we're excited when they will invite us to do it with them. They are so nice and great to hang out with. And we did a good job getting ready.
